Recently, my cell phone has been having issues. It randomly decides to turn off. Initially, I thought that it my fault . . . not paying attention to the battery level and forgetting to charge it. But yesterday it up and turned off, even while saying it had half a charge. I plugged it in anyway, . . . ()

Someone recently asked how my home repairs/improvements are coming, pointing out that I have not posted about them in quite some time. Um, yeah, I haven't. Mostly because I've been lazy busy and haven't really been working much on the house. However, I recently had cause to actually get off my du . . . ()

Earlier this week my kitchen light stopped working. Obviously, my first instinct was that the bulb had burned out, so I replaced it. But it still didn't work. I tried another bulb, just to make sure. But it still didn't work. Unfortunately, by the time I get home during the week, it's just dark . . . ()

As I think I've mentioned here, I've been doing a lot of home improvements lately. Basically, painting the front room, dining room & hallway; replacing 4 windows; replacing the patio sliding glass door; and replacing a total of 6 other doors (2 bedroom, 1 bathroom, 1 closet, 2 entry). Some frustra . . . ()

Apologies for not posting as of late, and even missing the Sunday brain teaser entry. As mentioned in the previous entry, I've been doing some redecorating. And as is true with every project undertaken in this house, it has turned out to be a touch more involved than originally anticipated. The f . . . ()

When I first moved into my current house some 6-7 years ago, the very first thing I did was repaint the bedrooms. Technically, I did it before I moved in. I honestly can't recall exactly what color the bedrooms were, but it was so hideous that I decided I could not spend a single night there witho . . . ()

I so enjoy doing home repairs/improvements. And yes, I'm being serious. Well, sort of. I enjoy the initial stages of the projects. You know--the part where I get to tear things apart. Taking a chainsaw to a deck, or a sledgehammer to the bathroom is a terrific way to work off any pent up frustr . . . ()

No, this is not a part of Trivia Sunday, which shall be delayed a week because, well, you'll see why. Question: What do you get when you combine a sleepy, "just woke up" nomad with a previously-unknown overflowed toilet? Answer: A very irate nomad with wet feet, and the birth of several new, . . . When I first moved in to my house a bit over 6 years ago (wow . . . hard to believe it's been that long) I knew right away that the deck was going to have to be replaced. It was grossly out of code (the joists were spaced about 5' apart, instead of the 2 feet required by code), rotting (one of the . . . ()

A few weeks ago (actually, more like about 2 months ago) my plan was to tear apart the old, decrepid, not-even-close-to-being-up-to-code deck in my back yard and rebuild it. I finally got around to starting it Friday. All throughout the initial teardown, there were various spiders, earwigs and oth . . . ()
